2012: Ice Ageis a 2011 disaster film produced by the independent film group The Asylum . It is a mockbuster taking in elements fromThe Day After Tomorrow.It is the third film in the Asylum's 2012 "series"[citation needed], however, none of them share a common plot. The other two being2012mockbusters2012: Doomsdayand also2012: Supernova.
A glacier moves quickly towards North America, specifically the Eastern Seaboard, at 200 mph after a sudden and extremely violent volcanic eruption in Iceland. A series of freak climate and weather events occur such as winter-like snow in August. A family has to pull together to escape what seems like a coming ice age.
